Life Upside Down (2023)

Life Upside Down
Rotten Tomatoes Rating5%
Release Date27 January 2023
Directed ByCecilia Miniucchi

The world had a unique and scary experience with the COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine that followed. Life Upside Down gives you a glimpse of the lives of three couples whose lives changed drastically during the pandemic. The storyline feels a bit dragged as it has nothing much to offer during the first half as it is something we all have come across and experienced just recently.

The story progresses slowly as the characters start learning more about themselves and we get a glimpse into what they truly are when left alone to themselves. The emotions are so raw and relatable that it is quite impossible to side with just one character throughout. Radha Mitchell movies have always had a raw side to them and this one is no exception.

Asking For It (2022)

Asking For It
Rotten Tomatoes Rating22%
Release Date4 March 2022
Directed ByEamon O’Rourke

Once again a movie with a strong message on this Radha Mitchell movies list. All the ladies might have got it by the title of what the movie is based on. ‘Asking for it’ is a statement we women come across regularly. When a small-town waitress, Joey, becomes the victim of sexual assault, she befriends a mysterious girl, Regina, and this marks the major twist in Joey’s life.

Regina is part of an all-female group that consists of women from all spheres of life with a traumatic background. She derives strength from the group and they all are set on a mission to fight against the misogynistic society. The makers had a strong base story but failed to do much about the plot. Overall Asking For It can be enjoyed once but does not leave a strong impression on the viewers.

The Shack (2017)

The Shack
Rotten Tomatoes Rating21%
Release Date3 March 2017
Directed ByStuart Hazeldine

One of the recent faith-based movies, The Shack stars Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer, Tim McGraw, and Radha Mitchell. The plot revolves around the life of a couple, Mack Philips, played by Sam Worthington, and Nan Philips, played by Radha Mitchell. The couple leads a happy life with their three children, Kate, Josh, and Missy. Their world is shattered when their youngest daughter Missy encounters an accident and dies.

The movie is well-written and has a balanced amount of suspense and emotions involved. As an audience, we can’t help but sympathize with Mack as his faith is shattered and then restored. This Radha Mitchell movie is a family entertainer that is high on emotions.

It follows the reunion of three estranged friends who wind up in jail after a night of shenanigans.

In Standing Up Radha Mitchell plays the role of Meg, Grace’s mother. Grace is one of the nerds who is at risk of getting bullied at the hands of some notorious kids. Meg is the kind of mother who believes in tough love and hence does not listen to Grace’s pleas to come get her from the camp.
