Yellowstone has been testing the patience of its fans with the delayed release of its final season. But we have finally an update on the Yellowstone Season 5 part 2 release date (Update Source – Variety, 2024).
The Paramount Network neo-western drama is split into two parts, part 1 aired from November 2022 to January 2023. As per the Hollywoodreporter, The final episodes of Yellowstone are officially slated to be released in November 2024
After witnessing a dedicated fan following and breaking the ratings record with 12.1 million viewers, Taylor Sheridon’s project also faced a serious halt in production due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The delay in the release of the final season led to many speculations including Kevin Costner’s exit from the show. The actor plays the head of the Dutton family and hence fans were concerned about him no more being a part of the show. But everything has been sorted for good and the series has cemented its reputation of being a global success.
With the writers’ and actor’s unions coming to an agreement after the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, the production for the final season will commence during the spring of 2024. Sheridon revealed that he wants to use Montana and its sunny sky to wrap up the high-end drama of the Duttons.
The announcement of the release date of Yellowstone season 5 came with two more major updates. Paramount has decided to release two spin-offs of the franchise, titled 1944 and 2024 (working title). Not much is known about the series yet but 1944 works as a prequel to Yellowstone. Sheridan confirmed that Matthew McConaughey will star in one of them alongside a few regulars from Yellowstone.
Taylor Sheridon has established himself as a mastermind of Western shows with hits like Yellowstone, 1883, and Mayor of Kingstown.
The previous season left us with many cliffhangers and hence it is a given that the upcoming season will be filled with even darker plot twists. The question of who will survive in the Yellowstone ranch pertains and we will have to wait a bit longer for all our answers.
