Israeli actress and model Odeya Rushinek (born May 12, 1997) is also known as Odeya Rush professionally.

Odeya Rushinek was born to an Ashkenazi Jewish family in Haifa, Israel. Her mother Maya Greenfeld was born in Soviet Russia and emigrated to Israel, whilst her father Shlomo Rushinek is a Sabra (Jew born in Israel). Her first name means “I shall praise God” in Hebrew. She started writing and performing plays when she was eight years old in her birthplace of Haifa, Israel.

When she was nine years old, her family emigrated to the US so that her father could accept a position as a security consultant in Alabama. Rush could only speak Hebrew and had no knowledge of English when she came. She lived in Birmingham, Alabama, where she attended the N. E. Miles Jewish Day School; subsequently, she moved to Midland Park, New Jersey, where she attended the local public school.

Rush’s family relocated to Los Angeles at the start of 2013. She has six brothers, two sets of twins who live with their parents in Los Angeles, two older paternal half-brothers who live in Israel, and four who are younger than she is.
