Kevin Hart Movies

Hollywood is filled with success stories of people who made it big through movies and one such name is Kevin Hart. The actor is now at the peak of his stardom and is known for his comedic roles but he started small as a stand-up comedian and eventually made his way to Hollywood. When it comes to comedy, Kevin Hart movies and TV shows have my heart (sounded funny in my head, don’t judge me).

The actor is known for delivering some of his best movies with The Rock and the audience has loved the chemistry between the two which involves a lot of physical comedy. With a prolific movie career built over the years, Hart successfully ventured into more challenging roles and proved his versatility as an actor.  We are taking a look at the best Kevin Hart movies with his best work to date.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)

Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 76%

The duo of Kevin Hart and The Rock paved the way for one of the most loved franchises, Jumanji. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was released in 2017 and marked one of the most successful movies of the year grossing over $900 million. The movie was released as a sequel to the 1995 release of Jumanji

The movie is a fantasy action comedy that revolves around four friends who accidentally get trapped in a video game as the character they have been playing. They will have to complete risky tasks if they want to get back to the real world. The movie brought out the world of the Jumanji video game and connected the storyline with real-world characters of Hart, The Rock, Karen Gillian, and Jack Black.

DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

DC League of Super Pets
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 72%

Once again the duo of The Rock and Kevin Harts but this time they impressed the audience with their voice acting. The pet dogs of superheroes Superman and Batman have taken over this time to fight against crime. The movie also features Keanu Reeves and John Krasinski as Batman and Superman respectively. The movie is one of the most loved movies of Keanu Reeves

The adorable animation makes it perfect for a feel-good movie that you can enjoy with your little ones. The adorable pets are left with no option but to take charge when the superheroes are kidnapped by Lex Luthor. Kevin Hart movies are known for their comic element and DC League of Super-Pets will not disappoint you either as the movie is filled with hilarious one-liners.

Fatherhood (2021)

Fatherhood
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 68%

The heart-touching Kevin Hart movie is based on a real-life story of a single father who is left alone to take care of his newborn daughter after the death of his beloved wife. The audience and critics equally appreciated Hart’s emotional role which is different from his usual comic ones. He once again proved his versatility and the movie was especially appreciated for Hart’s choice of character this time.

Matt and Liz had just started enjoying their life as parents to an adorable baby girl, Maddy when Liz’s sudden death shatters their paradise. But Matt has no time to grieve as he has to take care of his little princess and the rest of the movie is about his struggles and some cute father-daughter moments. Fatherhood has a convincing storyline as it is a subject that we as a society are aware of but never think about in much detail.

Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw (2019)

Fast and Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 67%

The movie featured a cameo by Kevin Hart and was one of the hilarious scenes of the movie hence I can’t help but rank the movie in this list of best Kevin Hart movies. The plot revolves around the titular characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. The movie has an ensemble cast including Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren. Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw can be counted as one of the best movies of Idris Elba since he was the main villain in the movie.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017)

Captain Underpants The First Epic Movie
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 87%

One more animated movies with Kevin Hart is the 2017 release of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. Fans were excited when Dav Pilkey’s novel got an animated adaptation. Hart voiced the character of George while Thomas Middleditch voiced Harold.

The plot revolves around two friends George and Harold who hypnotise their nemesis principle into believing he is a superhero named Captain Underpants. The movie is a kids-oriented movie and does pretty well at it. The title suggests that maybe the makers intended to release more parts of the movie but somewhere the idea seems to be dropped.

The Man From Toronto (2022)

The Man From Toronto
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 23%

The Man From Toronto is an action comedy and is one of the recent Kevin Hart movies. What happens when a commoner is mistaken for the world’s deadliest assassin? Well, that is exactly what the whole movie is about. The plot might sound absurd but it works pretty well with Hart’s comedic element.

No one has seen the man from Toronto but he is known for his brutal ways of torturing to get information out of anyone. When Teddy, played by Harts, arrives at the wrong cabin people mistake him for the man from Toronto, and he is expected to interrogate a man. One thing leads to another and he poses as the assassin while also forming a bond with him. The movie is a perfect family entertainer and will keep you engaged till the last minute.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

Jumanji The Next Level
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 71%

The 2019 release Jumanji: The Next Level is the sequel to one of the hit movies with Kevin Hart Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The whole cast reunited for the sequel and this time they are faced with a new challenge when Spencer gets trapped in the game once again. The movie followed the same concept of people getting sucked into the game but with a different storyline.

When the friends get back into the game to save Spencer, the task feels much more difficult than they had expected. The game is no longer like what they had experienced last time and they have to face even deadlier tasks. The movie undoubtedly tried to level up with the storyline and the graphics while also retaining the essence of the original movie.

The Secret Life of Pets (2016)

The Secret Life of Pets
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 71%

Haven’t we all fantasized about our pets having a secret life behind our backs as a kid? The Secret Life of Pets took the concept and turned our fantasies into reality. Kevin Hart voiced the character of Snowball, a misfit pet rabbit who is forming a gang of pets who have been abandoned by their owners. It goes without saying that he nailed the performance and bought out the comic element.

The movie is once again kids-oriented with its adorable animation yet will keep even the adults entertained with the well-written storyline. The movie was loved so much that it gave birth to a whole franchise.

Central Intelligence (2016)

Central Intelligence
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 71%

The movie marked the first project of the loved duo Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnsson and once again the duo is reunited to deliver one of the comedic geniuses. Central Intelligence was criticized for its storyline but the duo worked as the winning point of an otherwise average movie and succeeded in becoming one of the best Kevin Hart comedy movies

As the school reunion approaches, two schoolmates Calvin Joyner and Bob Stone run into each other. Calvin is an accountant and remembers Bob as the guy who was always bullied in school. Bob claims himself to be a CIA agent and asks Calvin to help in a mission. Though Calvin is skeptical about the whole situation he decides to help Bob out. What follows is a hilarious series of events and the actors showcased how great their chemistry works on screen.

Die Hart (2023)

Die Hart
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 31%

Die Hart Season 2 was released in 2023 and is one of the most recent of all Kevin Hart movies and TV shows. The first season was released in 2020 and was loved by the audience as the show featured Hart as his real self. The plot is about how Hart is tired of his comedic image and wants to be taken seriously as an action star. The series also features Nathalie Emmanuel, John Travolta, Jean Reno, and Josh Hartnett

The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019)

The Secret Life of Pets 2
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 60%

After the success of The Secret Life of Pets, the audience eagerly waited for the sequel which was released in 2019. This time the beloved pets had an addition of a Rooster, voiced by Harrison Ford. The movie did not perform as expected but Hart’s performance as Snowball once again impressed the audience with his adventurous life as the gang leader.

Conclusion

Kevin Hart movies have never failed to make the audience laugh and the actor has left an irreplaceable mark in the world of comedy. Starting as a stand-up comedian trying to find a place for himself, Hart has come a long way as one of the most successful actors in Hollywood.
